AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CORPORATION COUNSEL TO INSTI`T'UTE IN THE
iIcCRACKEIc CIRCUIT COURT A SUIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF CLOSING THAT PORTION OF
COURT AVENUE HAVING A LENGTH OF 65 FEET WHICH LIES BETI'IEEN RIDMJOOD AVENUE
AND THE PARK REALTY SUBDIVISION, AND FOR THE FURTHER PURPOSE OF ANNULLING A
COVENAI?^1 TO DEDICATE SAID STREET IN THE FUTURE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CO1.17ISSIOFERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah does hereby authorize the closing
of all that portion of Court or Kentucky Avenue which is bounded and described as
f ollows :
Commencing at the northeast corner of Lot 1,
Ridgewood Subdivision, as the same is shown
by the plat of said subdivision recorded in
Plat Book "C", page 40, in the office of the
Clerk of the idcCracken County Court; thence
with the northerly boundary of said Lot 1 as
shown on said plat in westerly direction a
distance of 65 feet to Ridgewood Avenue as
shown on said plat; thence at right angles in
a northerly direction with the line of Ridge-
wood. Avenue as shoi,.n on said plat a distance
of 50 feet; thence at right angles in an east-
erly direction a distance of 65 feet; thence
at right angles in a southerly direction a
distance of 50 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTIOiI 2. The corporation counsel of the City of Paducah is hereby
authorized and empowered to institute, pursuant to the provisions of KRS 94.360,
a suit for a decree ordering the closing of said street, and for the purpose of
securing such further orders as may be necessary to cancel the covenant which
appears on the plat referred to above, which is quoted as follows: "To be
dedicated without cost to the City of Paducah when and if a through street
is opened eastward as a continuation of this plot'.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its a doption.
