HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 943, No Resolution Number943 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CIT`I PIANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTING CONCRETE DRIVEWAYS, CURB AND GUTTER I'>•IT1I THE TEARING OUT AND REPLACEMENT OF INCIDENTAL CONCRETE PAVEIEHT ON MONROE STREET BETWEEN EIGHTH STREET AND NINTH STREET, AND PROVIDING THE MANNER IN 14HICiI BIDS SHALL BE RECEIVED. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C011ALIISSIONERS OP' THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for constructing concrete driveways, curb and gutter with the tearing out and replacement of incidental concrete pavement on Monroe Street between 8th and 9th streets. Bids for such work shall be submitted in accordance with the specifications and prints of the work on file in the office of the City Engineer, City Hall, Paducah, Ky. Each bidder shall accompany his bid with a certified check for "200.00 payable to the City Treasurer, City of Paducah, Kentucky. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for the aforesaid bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door, and by inserting notice of the Request for Bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bids shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date of the adoption of this Resolution. Ido bid shall be received unless under seal, nor s any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City I.Ianager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest and best responsible -bidder of the group. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any or all bids, and the City shall not be legally obligated under a contract for the aforesaid construction work until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
