HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 915, No Resolution Number915 V A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MNAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTING CONCRETE DRIVEWAYS, CURB AND GUTTER lU1TH THE TEARING OUT AND RE-PIAG12MT OF INCIDENTAL CONCRETE PAVEtMT AND SIDEWALK ON WNROE STREET BETWEEN SEVENTH STREET AND SIGHT STREET, AND PROVIDING THE 11WHER IN WHICH BIDS SHALL BE RECEIVED. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE; BOARD OF CODC•fISSIONERS Or THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1 That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for constructing concrete driveways, curb and gutter with the tearing out and replacement of incidental concrete pavement and sidewalk on I•Ionroe Street between 7th and 8th Street in the City of Paducah. Bids for such work shall be submitted in accordance with the specificiations and prints of the work on file in the office of the City Engineer, City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky. Each bidder shall accompany his bid - with a certified check for $200.00 payable to the City Treasurer, City of Paducah, Kentucky. SECTION 2 The City PIanager shall advertise for the aforesaid bids by posting a notice at City Hall door, and by inserting notice of the Request for Bids in at least one (1§ issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bids shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date of the adopting of this resolution. No bids shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Pfanager up to the time fia notice shall be filed with the Board of Comrdssioners who may let the contract to the lowest and best responsbile bidder of the group. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any or all bids, and the City shall not become legally obligated under a contract for the aforesaid construct work until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
