AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINDENT OF AN ASSISTANT LICENSE COLLECTOR
TO BE TEMPORARILY EMPLOYED FOR A PERIOD OF SIXTH DAYS; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES AND
FLYING THE AMOUNT OF HIS COMPENSATION; AND PROVIDING THE MANNER IN IdaCH HIS SALARY

TERMS, the services of an assistant license inspector are temporarily
required for collection of license fees from those persons who have failed or
refused to obtain their licenses; and
WHEREAS, said employment is seasonal in that the services of an assistant
license inspector are not necessary except for a short period -of time, and the
employment is authorized under MS 90.300 which provides that an employee shall not
be subject to the rules of civil service when he is "employed on temporary and

special projedts or to persons whose regular employment with the city are seasonal i
and are less than nine months in any one year.tt
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMIESSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, ICCNTUC19:
SECTION 1 That the City Manager.be, and he is hereby authorized to appoint
a suitable person to be employed in the office of the City Treasurer as an assistant
collector of licenses for a period of sixth (60) days beginning on September 1, 1952.
It shall be the duty of the assistant license collector to work with the license
inspector and members of the Police Department in the collection of all delinquent
licenses, and he shall be subject to the control and direction of the City Treasurer
in the perofrmance of his duties.
SECTION 2 The assistant license collector shall be paid a salary of
$300.00 per month during the period of his employment, said salary to be paid
in the same manner and at the same time the salaries of other city employees are
paid, and it shall be paid from the appropriation made for that purpose under
Account #2150 provided in the Appor£i6nment Ordinance adopted in the year 1952.
SECTION 3 The assistant license collector shall not acquire any rights
under the rules and regulations of the city civil service now applicable to appointive
employees.
SECTION 4 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
