HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 886, No Resolution Number886 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE HUNDRED (100) PARKING METERS; DESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT OF PURCHASE, AND THE MANNER IN WHICH BIDS SHALL BE SUBMITTED. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1 That the City Manager,be, and he is hereby, authorized and empowered to advertise for bids for the purchase of one hundred (100) parking meters, heads only, to be installed on the streets where parking meters are authorized. Bidders. shall submitt in writing their offers stating the purchase price of meters, which shall be operated so as to permit parking in periods of twelve (12) minutes for each one (1) cent deposited, one (1) hour for each five (5) cents deposited, and each meter shall be so constructed so as to allow a total legal parking time of two (2) hours. One-half of the receipts from the operation of said parking meters Mall be paid monthly to the successful bidder until the entire purchase price of all meters has been paid. Bidders id.11 also state in their bids that delivery of said meters shall be made within thirty (30) days from the execution of a contract. SECTION 2 The City Manager shall advertise for the purchase of said meters by posting up a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting a notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published for at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and the bids shall not be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bids shall be received after hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The right to reject any and all bids is reserved and the City of Paducah shall not become legally obligated to purchase said meters until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3 This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
