AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KING-WOODALL MOTOR SALES FOR THE
SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF ONE (1) NEW 1952 PLYMOUTH FOUR -DOOR SEDAN TO
BE USED IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PROVIDING FOR A TRADE-IN ON THE PURCHASE
PRICE OF A DAMAGED POLICE CAR; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INTER INTO
A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1 That the City of Paducah accept the bid of King -Woodall MOtor
Sales in the amount of Eight Hundred Fifty -Six and 7BA00 ($856.78) Dollars for the
sale of one (1) 1952 Plymouth Cambridge 4 door sedan with equipment specified in
its bid dated May 28, 1952, and with the optional equipment also specified therein,
and said price being the difference between the full sale price of $2022.82 and
the amount allolred on a trade-in of Police Car No. 3, a 1951 Plymouth Sedan which
was damaged by fire, said trade-in price being $1166.04 leaving a net balance due
on said purchase price of $856.78.
SECTION 2 That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
purchase for and on behalf of the City of Paducah said automible on the terms
and conditions set out herein and as specified in the bid of King -Woodall Motor
Sales dated May 28, 1952, together with such additional conditions and convenants
which the City Manager may deem necessary.
SECTION 3 This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the
Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least one (1) creek for public
inspection in the completed form in which it shall -be put upon its final passage,
but it being necessary for the Police Department to befurnished with said new
automobile as soon as possible in order to properly and efficiently patrol the
streets and enforce the ordinances of the City of Paducah and the streets of
the State of Kentucky for the protection of the public health and safety, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption.
