HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 870, No Ordinance Number870 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN REAL ESTATE FRONTING 41 FEET 4 INCHES ON THE EAST SIDE OF NORTH 8TH STREET NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF 8TH AND MONROE STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH FROM MRS. SALLIE JACKSON ADAMS AND PHILLIP E. ADAMS FDR THE SUM OF $12,500, PRESCRIBING TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAID PURCHASE HEREIN. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1 That the City of Paducah purchase from Mics. Sallie Jackson, a ifidow, and Phillip E. Adams, a single person, for the sum of $12,500 a certain lot or parcel of real estate located near the intersection of 8th and Monroe Street in the City of Paducah, said property being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the east line of North 8th Street 396 feet 6 inches south of Madison Street; thence south with the east line of North 8th Street 41 feet 4 inches; thence at right angles east 166 feet; thence at right angles north toward Madison Street 41 feet 4 inches; thence at right angles west 166 feet to the point of beginning on North 8th Street. That said property be conveyed to the City of Paducah by the said Mrs. Sallie Jackson Adams and Phillip E. Adams by good and sufficient deed, free and clear from all encumbrances and defects, and free and clear of all taxes, including those for 1952, said deed to contain a convenant of general warranty of title; that said purchase price of $12,500 shall be credited with the sum of $50.00 heretofore paid said parties for an option on said property. SECTION 2 The balance of the purchase price of $12,450 to be paid for said property shall be charged to ACCOUNT NO. 7700 REAL ESTATE ACQUISITION, AND the City Manager and the City Treasurer are hereby authorized to deliver to Mrs. Sallie Jackson Adams and Phillip E. Adams a check payable to them in the said amount upon delivery to the City Manager of a good and sufficient deed of said property on the terms and conditions set up on Section 1. SECTION 3 This ordinance shall be introduced at the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for public inspection for one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
