HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 846, No Ordinance Number846 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR AN ADVANCE OF FEDERAL FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $19,006 PURSUANT TO TITLE I OF THE HOUSING ACT OF 1949 WHEREAS the Board of Cpmmissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by appropriate resolutions, has heretofore undertaken the institution of a Slum Clearance and Redevelopment Program within said City and has secured a reservation of Federal funds for that purpose, and WHEREAS it is now proper to enter upon preliminary survey and planning activities in connection with such Program, and WHEREAS it is possible to procure an advance of Federal funds to defray the expense of such activities, and WHEREAS the Paducah Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended a budget of $19,006 for that purpose and has recommended that an application for an advance of that amount be filed, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1 That.an application shall be filed by the City of Paducah with the Division of Slum Clearance and Urban Redevelopment of the Housing and Home Finance Agency pursuant to Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, Public Law 171, 81th Congress, for an advance of Federal funds in the amount of $19,006 for use in defraying the expense of preliminary survey and planning activities in the Slum Clearance and Redevelopment Program within the City of Paducah. SECTION 2 That the Mayor, City Clerk, Assistant Corporation Counsel and any other necessary official of said City be, and they are hereby, authorized to prepare, execute and deliver such an application in the proper form in behalf of the City of Paducah, and to supplemeht,and to amend it as from time to time may be found necessary. SECTION 3This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on 'file'for at least one week for public inspection in the completdd form in which it shall be put upon its final passage and shall become effective ten days after its adoption.
