AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN
ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS, AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF THE FIRE
DEPARTAiENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH", WHICH WAS
ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 11, 1952, AND AMENDED ON
FEBRUARY 5, 1952
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title quoted
above be and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amended shall
read as follows:
"SECTION 1. The number and ranks of members of the Fire Department
of the City of Paducah, and their monthly salaries, provided said salaries
are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance adopted hereafter, shall
be as follows:
Position Number of Positions Monthly Salary
Fire Chief 1 335.00
Asst. Fire Chief 1 280.00
Mechanic 1 275.00
Captain 8 265.00
Lieutenant 8 260.00
Engineer 10 255.00
Switchboard Operator 3 250.00
Firemen 26 250.00
Provided, however, that a new member of this Department, during his
first year of service, shall receive a salary of ,24.0.00 per month, and upon
completion of a year of satisfactory service, as determined by the City Manager
on recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly salary shall be increased to
the applicable amount shown above.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be retroactively effective as on
April 1, 1952.
