FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF TWO (2) NEW 1952 CHEVROLET 4 DOOR SEDANS FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BY TRADIEG IN FOR SAID FEW AUTONOBILES POLICE CAR NO. 7 AND A 1940 PLYMOUTH COUPE, LICENSE 5061; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE THEREOF BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0111ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of Taylor -Milson Chevrolet Company, Incorporated, for the sale of two (2) 1952 Chevrolet 4 door sedans, Special, Model 1503, as said cars are described in said Company's bid dated April 17, 1952, in the amount of ;2,210.00. Said price representing the difference between the sale price of said new automobiles and the trade-in va1L allowed for police car No. 7 and a 1940 Plymouth Coupe, License 5061. SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into and execute, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, a contract for the purchase of said automobiles, provided that said contract shall contain all the terms, conditions and agreements as set forth in said company's bid, together with such additional conditions and covenants which the City Manager ma deem necessary. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regularly called meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, but it being necessary for the Police Department to be furnished with said new automobiles as soon as possible in order to properly and efficiently patrol the streets and enforce the ordinances of the City of Paducah and the streets of the State of Kentucky for the protection of the public health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
