HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 759, No Ordinance Number759 AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY NIRS. E. B. FERGERSON, MISS GGORG1A MAE NELSON, GUS T. SMITH, PADUCAH WATER WORKS, J. W. PILLEY AND J. H. HARALSON, WHICH LIES SOUTHEAST OF THE LONE OAK ROAD OR U. S. HIGHWAY NO. 45, AND SOUTH OF THE BERGER ROAD, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THAT TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that all of that territory adjacent to the present boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and hereinafter described, which is owned by Mrs. E. B. Fergerson, Miss Georgia Mae Nelson, Gus T. Smith, Paducah Water Works, J. W. Pilley and J. H. Haralson, and which is more particularly described as follows, be annexed to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, commencing: Beginning at a point on the line of the city limits 170.0 feet southeast of the easterly right of way line of Lovelaceville Road (U. S. Highway 45); thence on a line parallel to and 170.0 feet from the east- erly right of way line of Lovelaceville Road 603.17 feet to the Georgia Mae Nelson property line; thence S 63 deg 0 min E 879.36 to a marker; thence S 17 deg 35 min 'At along the easterly property line of the Georgia Mae Nelson property 142.6 feet to a concrete marker 6 in below the surface of the ground in the fence corner of the Smith Tract; thence S 16 deg 59 min W along an old fence line 133.8 feet to a concrete marker; thence S 74 deg 14 min E along an old fence line 1308.8 feet to a merker in a north - south fence; thence S 14 deg 50 min W along said fence line 1292.0 feet to a concrete marker in an old Northwest -Southeast fence line; thence N 63 deg 50 min W along said fence line 469.3 feet to corner, iron pipe marker; thence S 4 deg 15 min W 1600 feet to a marker; thence N 85 deg 45 min W 720 feet to a marker; thence S 29 deg 45 min W 355.0 feet to a marker; thence S 17 deg 40 min W 240.0 feet to a marker; thence S 2 deg 04 min W 210.0 feet to a marker; thence N 88 deg 02 min W 880.0 feet to a marker; thence N 2 deg 04 min E 722.0 feet to a marker; thence N $6 deg 34 min E 375.86 feet to a marker, which marker is the inter- section of a line parallel to and 390 feet south- west of the southwest boundary line, extended, of the property of the Paducah dater Works; thence N 27 deg 06 min W 1479.20 feet to a marker; thence N 40 deg 08 min W 236.61 feet to a marker on the southeast property line of the Richard C. Smith and James R. Smith Homesites (adjokning each other, which property line is 814.0 feet long); thence N 49 deg 52 min E 397.10 feet to an iron pipe marker representing corner of said Homesite property; thence N 35 deg 14 min W along the northeast line of said Homesite property 204.72 feet to a marker; thence N 49 deg 29 min E along a line parallel to and 300 feet southeast of the southeast right-of- way of Lovelaceville Road 489.03 feet to a marker in the southwest property line of the Elizabeth Smith Shelton Homesite property; thence S 40 deg 0 min E along the southwest line of said Elizabeth Smith Shelton Homesite property 106.45 feet to a marker; thence N 50 deg 17 min E 157.0 feet to a marker; in the southwest line of Cletus Krimple and wife property at the eastermost corner of said 760 Elizabeth Smith Shelton Homesite; thence S 40 deg 15 min E along the southwest line of Cletus Krimple property 63.85 feet to a marker in the west property line of the Paducah .later Works Access Road; thence N 1 deg 39 min W 251.85 feet to a concrete marker; thence N 36 deg 11 min W 270.21 feet to a stone marker at the right of way of LovelacevilleRoad; thence N 40 deg 31 min W across the road 60.0 feet to a marker in the northwest right-of-way line of Lovelaceville Road; thence down right-of-way line on west side of Lovelaceville Road running N 50 deg o min E 460.43 feet to a marker; thence N 17 deg 44 min E 969.48 feet to a concrete marker in the line of the existing City Limits of Paducah; thence across road along the line of the present City Limits a distance of 230 feet to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published in at least ten issues of the Sun Democrat, the official newspaper of the City of Paducah, and the extension of the City Limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing the above described territory as herein proposed, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until the expiration of 30 days after the passage of this ordinance and the publication thereof as required by law. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
