HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 699, No Resolution Number699 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 1000 GALLON CAPACITY STANDARD STEEL BITUMINOUS PRESSURE DISTRIBUTOR ATTACHED TO POWER DRIVEN CHASSIS FOR USE IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, -0 �� KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) 1000 gallon standard steel bituminous pressure distributor attached to a power driven chassis. Said dis- tributor shall meet with the following specifications: I "Minimum 350 GPM positive displacement type pump. Radiator cooled industrial engine of minimum 25 H.P. at 1600 R.P.M. Four speed transmission. Pump and piping to be completely enclosed. 121 full circulating type spraybar with vertical and horizontal adjustments. Two coilesss type burners. Completely insulated elliptical tank on longi- tudinal sill type mounting. Ladder to manhole on street side and fenders on both sides. Auxiliary equipment including pump tachometer, pump pressure gauge, fifth wheel to tachometer, pencil type thermometer, float gauges, portable burner with hose, hand spray with 15t of flexible metal hose, UTL tank car coupling with 15' 3 " unloading hose." Each bidder shall submit his lowest and best bid for the aforesaid equipment and chassis and will specify in said bid the type and description of the chassis to be used and showing all standard equipment to be used in conjunction with said chassis. Said price to be f.o.b. Paducah, Kentucky. Bidders will also give delivery date and length of guarantee on apparatus and shall agree to furnish a performance bond for delivery of said apparatus on or before such delivery date. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowe°st responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said distributor with chassis until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. 700 SECTION $.
