HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 657, No Ordinance Number657 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE FOR CONSTRUCTIO: OF CERTAIN STORN SEWERS, STORN RELIEF SEWER AND ADDITIONS THERETO, AND PUMPING STATION ALTERATIONS, TO IMPROVE AND EXTEND THE SEWER SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF PADUCAi AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH TO SIGN THE FORM OF APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF DEFENSE PUBLIC WORKS UNDER PUBLIC LAW 139 - 82d CONGRESS REQUESTING FUNDS FOR SAID PUBLIC WORKS WHEREAS, the improvement and extension of the sewer system of the City of Paducah has become necessary due to the increased number of users which will continue to increase because of the fast growth of the City of Paducah; and WHEREAS, it appears that the total estimated cost of this project will amount to $1,327,781.00, and the city has no funds with which to finance such project; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah in order to extend and improve its sewer system and to provide the necessary service required of its sewer system, apply for Federal assistance for the construction necessary to improve said sewer system and properties under Public Law 139 - 82d Congress, and that the grant requested in said application be in the amount of $1,327,781.00, and that Robert C. Cherry, Mayor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and he is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Paducah Form No. H-944 of the Housing and Home Finance Agency "APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF DEFENSE PUBLIC WORKS UNDER PUBLIC LAW 139 - 82d CONGRESS", and that said application contain a request for Federal funds in the amount above indicated and such other information as will be necessary to support said application. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
