HAMILTON AND ASSOCIATES IN SETTLEMENT OF THEIR INITIAL FEES FOR BUILDING CONSULTA- TION IN CONNECTION WITH THE PLANNING OF THE PROPOSED ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO BE MADE AT THE RIVERSIDE HOSPITAL, AND IN SETTLEMENT OF THEIR EXPENSE ACCOUNT (INCURRED WHILE ENGAGED IN SAID CONSULTATION WORK WHEREAS, under a contract heretofore entered into between the City of Paducah and James A. tfamilton and Associates, the said James A. Hamilton and Associates were engaged as consultants to give professional advice to the City of i Paducah Municipal Hospital in connection with the planning of alterations and additions to be made in the building of the Riverside Hospital; and, WHEREAS, it was provided under Step 1 of Section 11C0 of said contract that a retainer fee of twenty percent (20%) of the estimated fee shall be paid, the ;same to be based upon the architect's estimate of the cost of construction and of 'fixed equipment; and, WHEREAS, the architect's original estimate of the cost of construction and fixed equipment amounted to $800,000.00 on which, according to the schedule of fees ,set forth in said contract, the said James A. Hamilton and Associates would be entitled tp one and two-tenths percent (1.2%) or a total fee of $9,600.00; but said architect's estimate has since been revised and the total cost is $675,000.00 on which said consultants will be entitled to a percentage of one and thirty-two hundredths percent (1.32%), or $8,910.00; and WHEREAS, it was further provided in said contract that said building consultants are also to receive actual traveling expense plus a per diem allowance of $12.00 for James A. Hamilton and the same per diem allowance for not exceeding two assistants while engaged in consultation on said project; and, WHEREAS, the said James A. Hamilton and Associates are entitled to receive payment of the aforesaid initial fee and expense in amounts as follows: and, BUILDING Consultation Initial fee payment-- Step 1 20% of 1.32% of $675,000.00, estimated cost -------------------$1,782.00 Expense -------------------------- 225.00 $2,007.00 WHEREAS, by a motion duly adopted by the City of Paducah Municipal Hospital Commission, the payment of said initial fee and expense has been approved; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: Section 1. That the City of Paducah pay to James A. Hamilton and Associates the sum of $2,007.00 for the building consultation fees to which they are entitled under Step 1 of Section "C" of that certain contract entered into between the City of Paducah and the said James A. Hamilton and Associates dated June , 1951, 638 and for the expense allowance to which they are entitled, and that the City Manages and City Treasurer be, and they are hereby authorized to draw upon the deposit of $9,155.00 advanced to the City of Paducah by the Housing and Home Finance Administrator to aid in the financing and cost of the preparation of plans for the construction of the aforesaid hospital addition and check payable to the order of James A. Hamilton and Associates in settlembnt of the aforesaid fees and expense. Section 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
