AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KING-WOODALL MOTOR SALES FOR THE SALE
TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF ONE (1) NEW 1951 PLYMOUTH 4 DOOR SEDAN FOR USE IN THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT BY TRADING IN FOR SAID NEW AUTOMOBILE POLICE CAR NO. 7; AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of King -Woodall
Motor Sales in the amount of 1$1,403.61 for the sale of one (1) new 1951 Plymouth
four door sedan equipped with City Police Heavy Duty Package, consisting of 1011
clutch, heavy duty springs, firm ride shock absorbers, heavy duty springs in
seats and seat backs, battery heat shield and heavy duty battery. Air -foam
cushions, front and rear; #101 heater and defroster, arm rests, right and left,
rear bumper buffer guards and directional signals; said price representing the
difference between the sale price for said new automobile and the trade-in
value allowed for police car No. 7.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized
to enter into and execute, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, a contract
for the purchase of said automobile, provided that said contract shall contain
all of the terms, conditions and agreements as set forth in said Company's bid,
together with such additional. conditions and covenants which the City Manager
may deem necessary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting
of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least one (1) week
for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its
final passage, but it being necessary for the Police Department to be furnished
with said new automobile as soon as possible in order to properly and efficiently
patrol the streets and enforce the ordinances of the City of Paducah and the
streets of the State of Kentucky for the protection of the public health and
safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
