HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 494, No Ordinance Number17 0 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE PLACING OFFICES AND POSITIONS OF TRUST OR EMPLOYMENT IN THE SERVICE OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, UNDER CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF KRS 90.300 TO 90.990; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS, FIXING AND PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS, TERMS OF OFFICE, POWERS AND DUTIES OF SAID COMMISSION; PRESCRIBING THE RULES BY WHICH THE BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS SHALL BE GOVERNED IN THE GIVING OF EXAMINATIONS TO APPLICANTS FOR EMPLOYMENT; FIXING THE NUMBER, CLASSIFICATION AND SALARIES OF ALL EMPLOYEES IN EACH DEPARTMENT WHO SHALL BE AFFECTED BY THE CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS PROVIDED HEREIN; AND PRESCRIBING THE RULES REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE CONDUCT OF ALL EMPLOYEES AFFECTED THEREBY AND THE CAUSES FOR WHICH ANY EMPLOYEE MAY BE REPRIMANDED, SUSTENDED, DISMISSED OR REMOVED FROM EMPLOYMENT BY THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR AND ESTABLISHING A RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND THE CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF A PENSION FUND FOR APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND AUTHORIZING THE LEVY OF A TAX AND THE ASSESSMENT OF EMPLOYEES FOR THE CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF SAID FUND; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO ADMINISTER SAID FUND; FIXING AND PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS, TERMS OF OFFICE, POWERS AND DUTIES OF SAID BOARD OF TRUSTEES; PRESCRIBING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS BY WHICH SAID BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND ALL APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES SHALL BE GOVERNED WITH REFERENCE TO THE GRANTING AND ALLOWANCE OF PENSIONS AND OTHER BENEFITS AND PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE, WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON JULY 24, 1951 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 7 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted on December 2, 1947, and amended on Ju3� 24, 1951 be and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amended shall read as follows: "SECTION 7, There is hereby authorized the following positions in the Department of Finance, and the salary of each position provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Salary Number Position Per IMonth 1 City Treasurer (Head of Dept) $325.00 2 City Assessor 245.00 3 License Inspector 240.00 4 Auditor 270.00 5 Bookkeeper 220.00 6 Machine Operator 205.00 7 Deputy Assessor 195.00 495 8 Deputy Treasurer 9 Deputy Treasurer 10 Clerk -Typist 11 Clerk -Typist 195.00 195.00 195.00 195.00 SECTI@N 2.
