HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 48, No Resolution Number48 A RESOLUTION RATIFYING AND APPROVING THE ACTION OF THE CITY MANAGER BY ADVERTISING FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE TO BE USED By 9HE CITY OF PADUCAH IN ALL OF ITS GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR MONTHS BEGINNING MAY 16, 1950; REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE MAKING OF SUCH PURCHASES FOR USE IN GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS DURING FOUR (4) MONTH PERIOIS FROM AND AFTER SEPTEMBER 16, 1950; AND PRESCRIBING THE SPECIFICATIONS TO BE COMPLIED WITH BY BIDDERS: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the action of the City Manager by advertising for bids for the purchase of regular and Ethyl gasoline to be used by the City of Paducah in all of its governmental operations for a period of.four months beginning May 16, 1950, be ratified and approved. SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to hereafter advertise for bids for the purchase of regular and Ethyl gasoline for use by the City of Paducah during each and every period of four months beginning September 16, 1950. SECTION 3. No bid will be considered unless the regular gasoline offered for sale shall have a minimum research rating of at least 84 octane, and unless the Ethyl gasoline so offered shall have a minimum research rating of at least 90 octane. Each bidder shall state in his bid the price per gallon, including the state tax but excluding the Federal Tax thereon, for the respective grades of regular gasoline and also of Ethyl gasoline according to the octane rating of the gasoline so offered for sale, and shall guarantee the delivery of gasoline so rated. Each bid shall provide a guarantee against advance in the bid price during said four months period, but in the event of a decrease in the consumer's tank price during said period, the same reduction and one exactly equivalent to such decrease shall be given the city upon all of its purchases of gasoline. SEC TION 4. The City Manager will advertise for gasoline by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notices shall be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may accept the lowest and best bid. The right shall be reserved to reject any or all bids and the city shall not become obligated for the purohase of gasoline until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the acceptance of a con- tract with the successful bidder. 49 SECTION 5. All resolutions and parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 6.
