HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 472, No Resolution Number472 / A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW FIVE PASSENGER, FOUR DOOR AUTOMOBILE FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY aECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to advert for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one new five passenger, four door automobile, black color, having a minimum horsepower rating of 95, to be used in Police Department of the City of Paducah. Each bidder is to state the amount he accept in payment of the purchase price for said new automobile by accepting as trade-in Police car No. 7, which bears license number 5-278 and which has been wrecked. The car to be purchased shall be of the kind having a list price of not more than $2000. Each bidder shall state in his bid the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the city hall door and by inserting notice of the request.for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notife for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to pur- chase said automobile until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution a contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
