HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 457, No Resolution Number457 f__ A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY TANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1-2 TON P10TOR TRUCK WITH HYDRAULIC DUMP BODY FOR USE IN THE FLOOD - WALL DEPARTIIENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH; AND PRESCRIBING THE SPECIFIC 'Pu:Z'J AND CONDITIONS TO BE COMPLIED KITH BY BIDDERS BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City h;anager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of One (1) New 1-12 Ton Aotor Truck with hydraulic dump body, to be complete with cab, over -load springs and oil filt- ers. The bed to be of 21z yards water level capacity, and shall be constructed to allow for extension to increase capacity and shall be equipped with six inch cylinder hydraulic hoist. The wheel base of said truck shall be proper length to distribute the load on chassis, and each truck shall be equipped with disc wheels, dual rear with 700-20 10 ply tires front and rear. Each bidder shall state the amount acceptable in payment of the full purchase price in cash and shall submit a complete description showing the standard equipment of the truck he proposes to sell, together with all of the auxiliary attachments. Said price to be f.o.b. Paducah, Ky. Each bidder shall also state in his bid the date on which he guarantees to deliver said truck and shall agree to post a bond totalling 10% of the purchase price of said truck, said amount of bond to be subject to forfeiture in event of failure to deliver within time specified in bid. SECTION 2. The CityT%Tanager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issu( of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City I•;anager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissionnrs who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shr.11 reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to purchase said truck until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
