HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 447, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR AID TO THE MUNICIPAL HOUSING COIdT<<IS3ION BY SPECIFICALLY E%EKPTING SAID COI+MISSION FROM PAYIvENT TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF BUILDING AND ELECTRICAL FEES, AND DIRECTING THE CITY OF PADUCAH BUILDING IIt.:PECTOR AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR TO ISSUE BUILDING AND ELECTRICAL PERMITS AND TO 1•AKE INSPECTIONS WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah did by ordinance enacted on November 9, 1949 agree to a form of Cooperation Agreement between the City of Paducah, Kentucky and the City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commission for the construction of six hundred (600) low rent housing units, providing therein that the Local Authoirty should make annual payments in lieu of taxes and special assessments and in payment for public services and facilities furnished for or with respect to such Project and WHEREAS the payment of Building and Electrical Fees by the I,unicipgl Housing Commission was not specifically mentioned in said Cooperation. Agreement but it is believed that it was intended that said Commission be exempt from the payment of said fees; and WHEREAS Chapter 80 of the Kentucky Revised Statutes provides for aid to such housing commissions by public body and it is deemed advisable to so aid the City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commission by exempting it from the payment of said fees. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CONI'IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commission is hereby exempt from paying building fees and electrical fees to the City of Paducah, and the Citv of Paducah Building Inspector and the City of Paducah Electrical Inspector are hereby directed to issue without charge such building permits and electrical permits as may be required by said Commission, its contractors or employees in the erection of housing units under the provisions of the United States Housing Act of 1937, provided however, that such permits shall not be issued to a con- tractor or builder who is not licensed under the City of Paducah License Ordinance of December 23, 1947, as amended, and provided further that no building or electrics permit be issued for construction that does not comply with the Building Code, the Standards of Safety and all laws and ordinances relating to the saute subject matter which are not in conflict with this resolution/ SECTION 2. This resolution in no way affects the rights of the Building Inspector and Electrical Inspector to inspect the work contemplated by the permits herein provided, such inspection rights being specifically reserved bo the City of Paducah. SECTION 3. All. resolutions and parts pf resolutions in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. 4.1�8 SECTIONd 4.
