HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 419, No Resolution Number4 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 1951 MODEL ONE-HAIa5 TON PICK-UP TRUCK FOR USE IN THE STREET DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND COKDI UNDER WHICH BIDS SHALL BE SUBP:ITTED BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMZvIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah of one new 1951 model one- half ton pick-up truck. Each bidder shall state the amount acceptable in payment of the full amount of the purchase paice in cash, and shall submit a complete description showing standard equipment of the vehicle he proposes to supply. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the Paducah Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and pub.ished at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bids be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the Eity Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to purchase said truck until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
