AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY
OF EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BY ANNEXING CERTAIN PRO
PERTY OWNED BY J. W. PILLEY AND BY BENJAMIN F. HAR`OOD, JR AND WIFE, CAROLYN S.
HARWOOD, WH ICN LIES BETWEEN THE BURGER ROAD AND BUSH AVENUE (SOMETIMES KNOWN AS
GOODMAN DRIVE), AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THAT TERRITORY PROPOSED
TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that all of that territory adjacent to the
present boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, which is shown on the plat of
Haralson and pilley Fair Oaks Development recorded in the office of the Clerk
of the McCracken County Court in Plat Book "D" at page 40, which is owned in part
by j. w. pilley and in part by Benjamin F. Harwood, Jr. and wife. Carolyn 5§. Harw(
and which is more particularly described as follows, be annexed to the City of
Paducah, Kentucky:
"Commencing at the point shown on the plat
referred to above which lies at the inter-
section of the existing city limits line
and the southerly property line of Bush
Avenue (sometimes known as Goodman Drive);
thence with the southerly property line of
Bush Avenue south 70 degrees east as shown
on said plat a distance of 316.25 feet to
the center of the thread of the stream of
the creek shown on said plat; thence with
the center of the thread of the stream of
the creek as shown on said plat in a sou-
therly direction to the northerly property
line of Burger Road as the same is shown on
said plat; thence with the northerly pro-
perty line of the Burger Road as shown on
said plat north 70 deg4ees west a distance
of 347 feet more or less to the existing
boundary of the City of Paducah; thence in
a northerly direction with the existing
boundary line of the City of Paducah a dis-
tance of 410 feet more or less to the point
of beginning; being in all respects a part
of two parcels of land, the first of which
is now owned by Benjamin F. Harwood, Jr.
and wife, Carolyn S. Harwood, by operation
of two deeds made to them by Tyler White
and wife, Florence C. White, which are now
recorded in the office of the Clerk of the
McCracken County Court in Deed Books 289
qt page 325 and 301 at page 261; the second
of said two parcels of land is now owned
by J. W. Pilley by operation of a deed to
him made by Tyler White and wife, Florence
C. White, which is now recorded in said
Cletk's office in Deed Book 301 at page 255.
SECTION Z. This ordinance shall be published in at least ten issues of the
Sun Democrat, the official newspaper of the City of Paducah, and the extension of
the City Limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption
of an ordinance annexing the abbve described territory as herein proposed, and
such ordinance shall not be adopted until the expiration of 30 days after the pass-
age pf this ordinance and the publication thereof as required by law.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
