HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 384, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED TAN ORDINANCE FURTHER REGULATING THE USE OF WATER AND OF THE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OF THE WATER WORKS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLAT ON THEREOF'. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUC THAT AN ORDINANCE PASSED BY SAID BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON NOVEMBER 24, 1930 AND ENTITLED TAN ORDINANCE FURTHER REGULATING THEUSE OF WATER AND OF THE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OF THE WATER WORKS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF' BE AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: No person shall take or use any water furnished or supplied through the water works system of the City of Paducah for domestic or other purposes without contracting for the same pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Paducah Water Works as approved by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah. No person not an officer or an, employee o f the City of Paducah or of said water works dis- tribution system, or not having a permit from one duly authorized to execute the same, shall turn on or off any water from any main, distributing pipe, shut-off box other devise; nor open, injure or other*ise interfere with any shut-off box or wate meter; nor shall anyone permit water to be taken fron his premises by one not havin a permit or license so to take or use said water; nor shall anyone injure, tamper with or unscrew any nut or other fastening device on or about any fire plug. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined in any sum not less than Five ($5.00) Dollars, nor more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars for each and ever violation hereof. SECTION 2. It shall be the duty of any and all policemen on all beats to report any injury, breakage or damage to any fire plug or to said water system in any way, which report shall be made to the Chief of Police as promptly and as soon as dis- covered. Any person committing any act of trespass or injury to any of the propert connected with and belonging to the Water Works system of the City of Paducah not specifically defined in the first section hereof shall be deemed guilty of a mis- demeanor and shall be fined in any sum not less than Five (5?5.00) Dollars, nor more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars. SECTION 3.
