AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PAYMENT OF THE ADDITIONAL SUM OF'ti208.g0 FOR
FIVE NEW 1951 PLYMOUTH AUTOMOBILES PURCHASED FROM KING-WOODALL MOTOR SALES ABOVE TH'.
BID PRICE SUBMITTED BY THEM IN THE SUM OF !!6,970.25 BY TRADING IN FOR SAID NEW
AUTOMOBILES POLICE CARS NUMBERS 3, 4 AND 6
WHEREAS, under date of February 20, 1951 the City of Paducah accepted the
bid of King -Woodall Motor Sales in the sum of 06,970.25 for the sale of five new
1951 Plymouth automobiles and extra equipment as described in said ordinance,
said sum being the difference between the sale ;price of said cars and the trade in
value allowed for police cars numbers 3, 4 and 6; and
WHEREAS, King -Woodall Motor Sales submitted the aforesaid bid in the sum of
:6,970.25 before they were given the privilege under the price control law to
increase the price of said new automobiles; and
WHEREAS, if the offer of any other bidder had been accepted, the price of
the automobiles to be sold by them would have been proportionately greater by reaso
of the increased price allowed dealers since the adoption of the aforesaid ordinanc
WHEREAS, if the city should readvertise for bids to purchase said new auto-
mobiles the price of each dealer submitting bids would be proportionately increased
and such readvertisement would not result in any savings;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah approve the payment of the additional
sum of w208.80 to King -Woodall Motor Sales for the purchase of the five new 1951
Plymouth automobiles described in the aforesaid ordinance of February 20, 1951, so
that the total purchase price to be paid will amount to 07;179.05, and the City
Manager is hereby authorized to complete the contract of sale in accordance with
the Drovisions of the aforesaid ordinance.
SECTION 2. This ordinanne shall be in .full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
