USE Iid THE POLICE DEPART,IENT, AIdD PRESCRI_'ING THE CONDI'T'IONS UPOII :IHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CO7,31ISSIOIdERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City 14anager be and he is hereby authorized to adver- tise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of five new five passenger, four door automobiles, black color, having a minimum horsepower rating of 95, to be use in the Police Department of the City of Paducah. Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase price of the automobiles he offers for sale and also the amount he will accept in payment of the purchase price for three new automobiles by accepting as trade-ins Police cars Iios. 3, 4 and 6, which bear license numbers 5272, 5277, and 5280 respectively, so the city can determine the cost of purchasing 5 new cars and the trade-in allowance of three cars now in use. The cars to be purchased, whether by payment of cash for the full purchase price or by trade-in allowance of the aforesaid used cars, shall be of the kind having a list price of not more than ;12,000 each. Each bidder shall state in his bid the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Nanager shall advertise for gids by a notice posted up at the city hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. Ido bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City 7,1anager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The BQ rd of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to purchase said automobiles until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
