AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AS BOU.EVARD STREETS CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF TrIOI:PSON AVENUE, 2ST: STREET, AND JACKSON STREET
GENERALLY KNOW AS THE BELTLINE HIGHIVAY, REQUIRING ALL VEHICLES
TO STOP BEFORE ENTERING OR CROSSING SAID PORTIONS OF SUCH STREETS,
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TrT_ERYWITH, AND PRESCRIBING THE
PENALTY FOR ANY VIOLATION THEREOF
idHEREAS, the State Highway Department desires to place
stop signs on city streets intersecting the Beltline Highway, except
Par's Avenue, Jefferson Street and Broadway, and such signs are re-
quired for regulation of traffic entering or crossing said highway.
N0:1 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CONJv1ISSION rRS
OF ME CITY OF PADUCAH, iMNTGCT.ff:
SECTIO? 1. That Thompson Avenue from the northern city
limit line to the north side of Park Avenue; 28th Street and an
unnamed street connecting Thompson Avenue with 28th Street from
the south side of Park Avenue to the North side of Jefferson
Street; 28th Street from the south side of Broadway to the South
side of Jackson Street; and Jackson Street from the west side of
28th Street to the east side of Lovelaceville Road; be, and each
of said streets within the boundaries mentioned is hereby declared
to be and is established as a boulevard, and all vehicles of every
kind shall come to a complete stop before proceeding to enter or
cross said streets or boulevards.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
c onf lic t herewith, to the extent of such conflict, are hereby
repealed.
SECTIOII 3. Any person driving a vehicle or any person,
firm, company or corporation owning or operating a vehicle vihich
is driven in violation of any provision of this ordinance shall,
upon conviction thereof, be fined not less than Five Dollars
(',5.00) nor more than Twenty Dollars .2 0.00) for each violation
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
