HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 184, No Ordinance Number184 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF THE POLICE DEPAR'VENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COIt7T+IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The number and ranks of members of the Police Department of the City of Paducah, and their monthly salaries, provided said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance adopted hereafter, shall be as follows: Position Number of positions Monthly Salary Chief of Police 1 $305.00 Asst. chief of Police 1 250.00 Chief Detective 1 245.00 Captain 4 235.00 Lieutenant 4 230.00 Jailer 1 225.00 Sergeant 5 225.00 Policemen 31 220.00 Provided, however, that a new member of this department, during his first year of service, shall receive a salary of $210.00 per month, and upon completion of a year of satisfactory service, as determined by the City Manager on recom- mendation of the Chief of Police, his monthly salary shall be increased to the amount shown above. SECTION 2. The salaries in the amounts provided in this ordinance shall be paid for services beginning November 1, 1950. SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be introduced at the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for public inspection at least two weeks in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
