HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 180, No Ordinance Number18� AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7, 8, AND 9 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE PLACING OFFICES AND POSITIONS OF TRUST OR EMPLOYMENT IN THE SERVICE OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, UNDER CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS PURSUAN TO THE PROVISIONS OF M 90.300 TO 90.990; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS, FIXING AND PRESCRIcING THE QUALIFICATIONS, TERMS jOF OFFICE, POWERS AND DUTIES OF SAID COMMISSIONERS; PRESCRIBING THE RULES BY WHICH THE BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS SHALL BE GOVERNED IN THE GIVING OF EXAM- INATIONS TO APPLICANTS FOR EMPL0)RJENT; FIXING THE NUMBER, CLASSIFICATION AND SALARI OF ALL EMPLOYEES IN EACH DEPARTMENT '.7 HO SHALL BE AFFECTED BY THE CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS PROVIDED HEREIN; AND PRESCRIBING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE CONDUCT OF ALL EMPLOYEES AFFECTED THEREBY AND THE CAUSES FOR WHICH ANY EMPLOYEE MAY BE REPRIMANDED, SUSPENDED, DISMISSED OR RMTOVED FROM EMPLOYMENT BY THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR AND ESTABLISHING A RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND THE CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF A PENSION FUND FOR APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND AUTHORIZING THE LEVY OF A TAX AND THE ASSESSMENT OF EMPLOYEES FOR THE CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF SAID FUND; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTiMENT OF A BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO ADMINISTER SAID FUND; FIXING AND PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS, TERMS OF::`OFFICE, POWERS AND DUTIES OF SAID BOARD OF TRUSTEES; PRESCRIBING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS BY WHICH SAID BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND ALL APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES SHALL BE GOVERNED WITH REFERENCE TO THE GRANTING AND ALL0WANCE OF PENSIONS AND OTHER BENE- FITS AND PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE, WHICH WAS AD")PTED BY THE BOARD OF COIN',IIS- SIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON AUGUST 8, 1950 - BE IT ORDAINED cY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KEdTU( SECTION 1. That Sections 7, 8, and 9 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted on December 2, 1947, and amended on August 8, 1950; be and the same are hereby amended so that said sections as amended shall read as follows: n "SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and shall remain on file at least two weeks for public inspection in the completed form in which it shal be put/upon its final passage.
