HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 144, No Ordinance NumberAN QIDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXECUTION OF A DEED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, MITTUCKY, TO 9FE PROPERTY AT 721 WASHINGTON STREET IN PADUCAH, KEwCIu, TO THE TRUST -.ES OF THE WASHINGTON STREET EAPTIST CHURCH IN LIEU OF A DEED TO THE SAME PROPERTY DATED THE DAY OF JUNE, 1942, WHICH HAS BEEN LOST, AND AUTHORIZING STUART JOHNSTON, THE MAYOR, AND SARAH THURMAN, THE CITY CLERK, `_ro EXECUTE SAID DEED FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH. WEEREAS, by deed dated June , 1942, the City of Paducah conveyed the hereinafter described property to the Trustees of the Washington Street Baptist Chur�b. of Paducah, Kentucky; and WHEREAS, said deed vias never recorded and has been lost; NOW MEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY. SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah execute and deliver to J. J. Greernvade, Arthur t"aple, L. D. Matthews, Fred George, John Rudder, Vernell Hayes, L. C. Donaldson, L. E. Adams, and Ernest L. Wilson, Trustees of the dashington Street Eaptist Church of Paducah, Kentucky, a deed to the property at 721 14ashington street in said city which was heretofore sold and conveyed to the Trustees of said church by a deed dated June , 1942, which deed has been lost, and Stuart Johnston, the Iriayor of the City of Paducah, and Sarah Thurman, its Clerk, are hereb authorized and empowered, for and on behalf of said city, to execute and deliver to the aforesaid Trustees, with covenant of special warranty, and subject to any defects, encroachments or other state of facts which an accurate survey would disclose, a certain lot or parcel of land lying and being in the City of Paducah, County of McCracken and State of Kentucky, described as follows, to -writ: Beim one lot 41.25 x 157.25, fronting on the south side of Washington 6treet between 7th and 8th streets, and known as Lot 8 in i;lock 32, Addition "B" to the City of Paducah. Beginning 181.5 feet from the southwest corner of 7th street and Washington Street; runs thence with ::ashington Street in a direction toward 8th street or west 41.25 feet to a corner stake on Washington street; thence at right angles in a diredtion toward Clark street or south 157.25 feet to a corner stake; thence at right angles in a direction toward 7th street, or east, 41.25 feet to a corner stake on an alley; thence with said alley in a direction toward iras hington street, or north, 157.25 feet to the beginning. Being one of the lots conveyed to the City of Paducah} b,r Sam icing, Master Commissioner of McCracken Circuit Court, by deed dated March 9, 1942, of record in Deed book 213, page 247, McCracken County Court Clerk's Office. SECTION 2. That said property be conveyed to the aforesaid Trustees of the '.5'ashington atreet i>aptist Church free and clear of the lien for any taxes levied against the same to and including the assessments due in the year 1942, and upon the condition that all taxes which became due in the year 1943 and thereafter shall be paid by the mustees of said church. 195 SECTIOb1 5.
