HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1356, No Ordinance Number�3� AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND EIP06TERIIdG THE MAYOR, OF TH3 CITY OF PADUCAH, TO EXECUTE, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THs CITY OF PADUCAH,A DEED OF COMIVEYAI?CE TO THE GULF REFINING COMPANY OF REAL ESTATE LYING BETWEEN THE PROPERTIES OF THE GULF REFINING COMPANY AND FERGUSON PROPERTY, AT AND NEAR, THE I•IOUTH OF ISLAND CREEK, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY The City of Paducah having been duly notified of the Gulf Refining Company' election to exercise the option heretofore granted to it by the City of Paducah pursuant to the terms of said option, now BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI-ZKISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTI011 1. That the Miayor of the City of Paducah be, and he is hereby, authorized and empowered to execute for and on behalf of the City of Paducah a deed of conveyance to the Gulf Refining Company of that certain tract of real estate noir owned by the City of Paducah, lying and being in the City of Paducah, idcCracken County, Ke- ntucky, and more particularly described as follows, to -wit: "Beginning at the intersection of the north line of Elizabeth Street extended, and the east line of Frankfort Street; thence with the North line of Elizabeth Street extended, toward the Tennessee River, forty (40) feet; thence toward the right exterior angle 39 degrees and 15 minutes, 125 feet; thence to the left exterior angle 55 degrees and 15 minutes, two hundred (200) feet more or less, to low water mark of the Tennessee River; thence at right angles, eighty (80) feet to the center of Island Creels; thence up the center of island Creek with its meanderings, to the East line of the Gulf Refining Company property; thence with said -east line, two hundred and five (205) feet, more or less, to the South property line of Elizabeth Street; thence with the South property line of Elizabeth Street, West seventy (70) feet more or less, to the intersection of the South -property line of Elizabeth Street and the East line of Frankfort Street if extended across Elizabeth Street; thence north sixty -sir. N9) feet to the beginning point." Being all the property conveyed to first party by E. Palmer and his wife 1.1ary G. Palmer and recorded in Deed Book 50 page 467, McCracken County Court Clerk's office, and all or a portion of -certain property acquired by party of first part from Romann on February 22, 1892 by means unknown and unrecorded. for a consideration of p600.00, payable in cash to the City Treasurer of the City of Paducah at the City Treasurer's office in the City Hall at Paducah, Kentucky, at the time of the delivery of said deed. SECTIOII 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
