HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1337, No Ordinance Number13371 AN ORDINANCE ADIENDING SECTION 6 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: 1101 ORDINANCE RELATING TO TRAFFIC AND REGULATING THE USE OF PUBLIC STREETS IPI THE CITY OF PADUCAH; DEFINING AND ESTABLISHING BARKING i -%TER ZONES AND REGULATING AND CONTROLLING AND PROVIDING FOR INSPECTION OF THE T11M, PARKING OF VEHICLES THEREIN BY THE USE OF PARKING IETERS; PRESCRIBING LIi•_ITS OF TII•IE FOR PARKING IN PARKING DETER ZONES; AND PROVIDING FOR ENFORC21IENT OF THIS ORDINAICE AND PUNISIMENT FOR ITS VIOLATIONTI, WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF C01, 2SSIONERS ON JULY 9, 1916, AND ADM -LADED ON JULY 28, 1953 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMPUSSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 6 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on July 9, 1946, and amended on July 28, 1953, be, and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amended shall read as follows: J` 11SECTIOI? 6. Between the hours of 8:00 oTclock A.M. and 8:00 o'clock P.1-1. on Fridays and bet:•:een the hours of 8:00 o'clock A.M. and 6:00 oTclock P.ii. on every day except Sundays and other days which are declared holidays in the City of Paducah, and except that such hours, Sundays and holidays shall not apply to parking meters adjacent to the Post Office property as is hereinafter set forth, it shall be unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in his name or operated or controlled by him to be parked in any space adjacent to which a parking meter is installed during any time when the meter is showing a signal indicating that such space is illegally in use - other than such time as is necessary to o�erate the meter to show legal parking - and provided also that it shall 1%ewise be unlawful to part: for any consecutive time longer than the time indicated for the followin parking meter zones: (1) Zones limited to sixty (60) consecutive minutes parking: Broadway between Second Street and Seventh Street, except north side adjacent to post office property First Street between Kentucky Avenue and Broadway Third Street between Washington Street and Jefferson Street Fourth Street between Kentucky Avenue and Jefferson Street Fifth Street between Kentucky Avenue and Jefferson, except on "lest side adjacent to post office property. (2) Zones limited to twelve (12) consecutive minutes parkin: North side of Broadway and west side of Fifth Street adjacent to Post Office property. South side of KentuEky Avenue adjacent to City Hall. In all other parking meter zones parking shall be lir..iited to One Hundred Twenty (120) consecutive minutes. 1338 It shall be unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit or stiffer any vehicle registered in his name or operated or controlled by him to be parked in any space on the north side of Broadway and west side of Fifth Street, adjacent to the Post Office property where parking meters are installed during any time twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week, with no exception, when the meter adjacent to such space is showing a signal indicating that such space is illegally in use, other than such time as is necessary to operate the meter to show legal parking" SECTION 2. Akl ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
