HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1318, No Ordinance Number1318✓, AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF X1000.00 FOR PAYMENT OF THE ACCOUNT OF ALVORD, BURDICK AND HOWSON FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES PERFORMED IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROCEEDING TO ACQUIRE THE ELECTRIC UTILITIES SYSTEM OF. THE KENTUCKY UTILITIES COMPANY WHEREAS, under a motion passed by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah pn June 26, 1951, Alvord, Burdick & Howson, engineering consultants of Chicago, Illinois, were employed by the City of Paducah to make a survey and report as to the expense to be incurred by said city for electric facilities in addition to those acquired from the Kentucky Utilities Conpany in order that said city may purchase power at wholesale from the Tennessee Valley Authority after acquiring the electric system of said company, and to furnish said city with estimates of such to be included as a part of the total amount of the revenue bonds to be issued for the purchase, construction and operation of the electric utilities system; and, WHEREAS, said survey and report has been made and the said Alvord, Burdick & Howson have submitted a bill in the sum of X1000.00 for "services in conn- ection with investigation outlining the construction required, etc., making estimate of cost of constructing facilities necessary- utilization of TVA power***as per your letter of June 15, 1951, and your letter of July 23rd, 1951." NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COM[-IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the sum of $1000.00 be, and the same is hereby appropriated) for payment of the account of Alvord, Burdick & Howson for services rendered by them in the preparation of a survey and report as to the cost of constructing facilities necessary for utilization of TVA power upon the purchase of the electric utilities system of the Kentucky Utilities Company by said city, the amount thereof to be charged against the fund appropriated for the use and benefi of the Electric Plant Board under Account No. 7300. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and shall remain on file in its completed form and for public inspection at least one week before being put upon its final passage, and if adopted, said ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days from and after its adoption.
