HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1306, No Resolution Number1106 , A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE SALE OF A CERTAIN VACANT LOT OWNED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY ON THE NORTH SIDE OF CLARK STREET BETWEEN 16TH STREET AIJD 17TH STREET IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE; AND PRESCRIBING THE MANNER IN WHICH BIDS SHALL BE ADVERTISED FOR AND RECEIVED BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C01111ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the•City I%ianager be and•he is herebyauthorized to. advertise for the sale of a vacant lot owned by the City.of:Paducah,.Kentucky, known as Lot Nom 16 in Block No. 3 in Oakland Terrace Addition as shown by plat.: of same of record in Plat Book A, page 142 in the McCracken County Court Clerkts Office; said lot fronting 50 feet on the north side of Clark Street between 16th Street and 17th Street of Baducah, Kentucky, and extending back 160 feet to an alley. SECTION 2. Each bidder shall state the highest amount of money he is willing to pay for said lot. The full amount of purchase price shall be _paid in cash. SECTION 3. The City I'•'!anager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for in at least one (1) issue of the Sun Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened wrl.thin ten..(10) days from the date on which this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the highest and best bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and shall not bedbme legally obligated to accept any bid until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing such acceptance. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in .full force and effect from and after its adoption.
