A RESOLUTION AUTHO&IZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
SALE OF A CERTAIN TRACK OF LAND OWNED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY SITUATED
ON THE KENMAR ROAD IN McCRACKEN COUNTY, KENTUCKY; PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND
CONDITIONS OF SALE; PRESCRIBING THE MANNER IN WHICH BIDS SHALL BE ADVERTISED
FOR AND RECEIVED
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
advertise for the sale of the hereinafter described tract of land owned by the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, situated in McCracken County, Kentucky, described as
follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line
of the land owned by R. Saunders in 1$$3, with the
northerly line of the old abandoned right -6f -way now
known as Kenmar Road said point being 5,000 feet
eastwardly from Clarks River along the original
location of the railroad track of the C. 0 and S.W.
Railroad Company, and running thence N 32 degrees
east 536.25 feet, thence east 49.5 feet; thence south
3 degrees west $16.75 feet to a point in the above
mentioned northerly line of said old railroad right-
of-way (now Kenmar Road); thence north 37 degrees 45
minutes west along said northerly kine to the point
of beginning. Being the same land conveyed to the
City of Paducah by A. Y. Martin and wife, Lena H.
Martin, by deed dated November 27, 1933, and of
record in Deed Book 182, page 475 in the McCracken
County Court Clerk's office.
SECTION 2. Each bidder shall state the highest amount of money he is
willing to pay for said land. The full amount of purchase price shall be paid in ca h.
SECTION 3. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted at
the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one
(1) issue of the Sun Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least
seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened -within ten
(10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be
received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in
the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the
time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let
the contract to the highest and best bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall re-
serve the right to reject any and all bids and shall not become legally obligated to
accept any bid until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing such acceptance.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
