A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE SLUM CLEARANCE AND Ell 1z,
REDEVELOPT NT PROGRAM, 1111THIII THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KEI4TUCItY AND CREATING AN
AGENCY WITHIN THE PURVIEW of KRS 99.350
WHEREAS on April 29, 1952, by resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION PROVIDING
FOR THE INSTITUTION OF A SLUid CLEARANCE AND REDEVELOPIIEIIT PROGRA1.1 WITHIN THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", this Board found and declared that there existed
in the City of Paducah slum areas or blighted areas, as defined in KMS 99.340,
and that there was need in said City for the exercise of the powers, functions
and duties conferred by KMS 99.330 ta,99.510, and
WHEREAS by said resolution this Board further f otu'id and declared that it
would be more efficient and in the public interest for the powers, functions and
duties referred to in said resolution to be exercised by the City of Paducah
rather than by an agency created pursuant to KRS 99.350, and
WHEREAS the study subsequently made by this Board with the financial
assistance of the Division of Slum Clearance and Urban Redevelopment of the
Housing ana Home -Finance Agency pursuant to Title I of the Housing Act of 1949,
Public Lair 171, 81st Congress, has indicated need of further study, investigation
and survey of potential development areas, and
i^IHEREAS it appears that it mould now be more efficient and in the public
interest to create an agency for the continued exercise of the aforesaid powers,
functions and duties,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUBKY:
SECTION 1. That there exist in the City of Paducah slum areas or blighted
areas, as defined in KMS 99.340.
SECTION 2. That there is need in the said city for the exercise of powers,
functions and duties conferred by KRS 99.330 to 99.510.
SECTION 3. That the exercise of such powers, functions and duties by an
agency created and established pursuant to KMS 99.350 would now be more efficient
and in the public interest than the exercise of such powers, functions and duties
by the City or the City of Paducah iiunicipal Housing Commission.
SECTION 4. That there is hereby created, pursuant to KRS 99.350, an
agency to be known as the "Slum Clearance and Redevelopment Agency of Paducah,
Kentucky".
SECTION 5. That the City I.ianager of the City of Paducah, Kentucky is
declared to be the officer of said City having the duties customarily imposed
upon the executive head of said City within the purview of the definition of the
term "Mayor" as contained in HIi.S 99.340 (5).

SECTION 6. That all powers, duties and functions assumed and undertaken
by -the City under the aforesaid _resolution of April 29, 1952 and delegated in
part to the Paducah Planning and Zoning Commission are now delegated to and imposed
said agency.
SECTION 7. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
