HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1281, No Ordinance Number12 ]� AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY ANNEXING'CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY EMMETT BEYER, CITY OF PADUCAH GOLF COMMISSION AND PADUCAH AND ILLINOIS RAILROAD COMPANY, AND ALSO LOTS NOS. 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 IN BLOCK "B" AND ALL OF BLOCK TMC" IN HOLLAND AND GRA SSHAM SUBDIVISION, WHICH PROPERTIES ARE EAST AND SOUTH OF THE PRESENT CITY LIMIT LINE, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF -THAT TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE.CORPORATE LIMIT OF THE CITY OF-PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY•OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby porposed that all of that territory adjacent to the present boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky and hereinafter described, which is owned by Emmett Beyer, City of Paducah Golf Commission and the Paducah and Illinois Railroad Company and also lots Nos. 9, 10, 11, 129 13, 14o 15 and 16 in Block "B" and all of Block 'tC" in Holland and Grassham Subdivision, be annexed to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, the same being accurately defined as follows: "Beginning at a point in the present city limit line on the south line of Bush Avenue where the same would be intersected by the center line (if extended) of an alley in Block "B" in Holland and Grassham Subdivision, a plat of which is of record in Plat Book "All" page 115 in the McCracken County Court Clerk's office; thence northwardly and northeastwrardly with the present city limit line to a point on the northeast line of the present 100 foot right -of -wap of the Paducah & Illinois Railroad Company; thence southeastwardly with said right- of-way line 2350 feet, more or less to a point where said line would be intersected by tie south line (if extended) of a 5.83 acre tract of land conveyed to the City of Paducah Golf Commission by Citizens Savings Bank of Paducah, Trustee, by deed dated December 17, 1948 and of record in Deed Book 274, page 242 in the aforesaid Clerk*s office; thence southwestwardly and making an interior angle of 83 degrees 14 minutes with the last described line 812.7 feet to the south west corner of the aforesaid 5.83 acre tract; thence norhh- wardly and making an interior angle of 48 degrees 42 minutes with the last described line 16.92 feet to a stone; thence westwardly and making an angle of 103 degrees 15 minutes with the last described line and running along the line of the Paxton Park Golf Course property 555.8 feet to a stone; thence south- wardly and making an angle of 92 deg#ees 36 minutes with the last described line and running along the line of said Golf Courseproperty 601.$ feet to a stone; thence westwardly making an angle of 96 degrees 4 minutes with the last described line 567 feet to a stone on the east line of Oak Avenue; thence northwardly with the east line of Oak Avenue 569 feet to a stone where said line is intersected by the north line of Beyer Avenue; thence westwardly with the north line of Beyer Avenue 1410 feet, more or less, to a stone, common corner to the aforesaid Golf Course and the property of Emmett Beyer; thence at right angles southwardly across Beyer Avenue to a point on the south line of Beyer Avenue; thence westwardly with the south line of Beyer Avenue 20.21+ feet to the west line of Grundy Street; thence southwardly with the west line of Grundy Street 440.5 feet to a point where same is intersected by the south line of Bush Avenue4 thence westwardly with the south line of Bush Avenue 420 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.tt 1282 SECTION 2. This ordinance'shall be published in at least ten (10) issues of the -Sun -Democrat, the official newspaper of the City of Paducah, and the extension of the City Limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing the above described terri- tory as herein proposed, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until the expiration of thirty (30) days after the passage of this ordinance and the publication thereof as required by lata. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in'full force and effect'from and after its adoption.
