HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1252, No Ordinance Number125? / AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN REAL ESTATE FRONTING 14 FEET ON THE SOUTH LINE OF BROADWAY ADJOINING THE PADUCAH JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, FROM BERTIiA STACEY AND HER HUSBAND, C. C. STACEY, FOR THE sum OF 05000 TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH IN THE ESTENSION OF 13TH STREET BETWEEN BROADWAY AND KENTUCKY AVENUE, OR FOR ANY OTHER PUBLIC USE; PRESCRIBING THE TERMIS AND CONDITIONS AND AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE AND THE PAYI•IENT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE THEREOF BY TILE CITY SUBJECT TO SUCH.TERMS AND CONDITIONS BE IT ORDAINED BY TIIE BOARD OF COI,MISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky purchase from Bertha Stacey and her husband, C. C. Stacey, for the sum of 05,000.00 a certain tract of land located on the south side of Broadway in the City of Paducah, Kentucky to be used in the opening and extension of 13th Street between Broadway and Kentucky Avenue, or for any other business use. Said land being more particu1 described as follows: "Beginning at a point on the south line of Broadway at the north west corner of the Paducah Junior High School tract of land ovmed by the Board of Education of Paducah, Kentucky, said point being approximately 55007? west of 12th street; thence westwardly and with the south line of Broadway 14?; thence southwardly and parallel with 12th street 1751 more or less to a point on the north line of the property of Stanley D. Fetter; thence eastwardly with said line of Fetter and parallel with Broadway 142; thence northwardly and parallel with 12th street 1752 more or less to the point of beginning." That said property be conveyed to the City of Paducah, Kentucky by a good and sufficient deed, free from all encumbrances and defects and to contain a covenant of general vrarranty as to title. SECTION 2. The purchase price of ;x5000.00 to be paid for said property shall be charged to Account Number 10282 of the Apportionment Ordinance for the year 1953, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized to deliver to Bertha Stacey and husband, C. C. Stacey, a check payable to them in said amount upon delivery of a deed conveying title to said property as prescribed in Section 1 hereo_% SECTION 3.
