HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1248, No Resolution Number1248 / A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE SALE OF CERTAIN BUILDINGS AND II.1'ROVEKENTS IN WHAT IS HI,1OVJN AS RHODES-BROADY COURT AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF 11TH AND FLOURNOY STREETS IN T1IE CITY OF PADUCAH; PRESCRIBING THE SPECIFICATIONS TO BE COIPLIED ti'TTH BY BIDDERS AND THE TERI4S AND CONDITIONS OF SALE; PRESCRIBING THE 1'•IANNER IN WICH BIDS SHALL BE ADVERTISED FOR AND RECEIVED KENTUCILY: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CO2-11ISSIONERS OF TIME CITY OF PADUCAH, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for the sale of thirty -taro (32) buildings and improvements upon the property known as Rhodes -Broady Court located at the northeast corner of 11th and Flournoy streets in paducah, kentucky, including all plumbing and heating fixtures and equipment contained in same and also any or all structures thereon which have been damaged by fire. Bids will be received for the sale of all of the buildings and structures and also individual buildings or a group of individual buildings. Each bidder shall state the highest amount he is willing to pay for each of said buildings he wishes to purchase. The full amount of the purchase price shall be paid in cash. It is to be understood by the bidders when submitting offer that the buildings or structures bought by them must be removed completely from the site within thirty (30) days after the City approves the sale of same by ordinance. It is also to be understood by the bidders when submitting offers that said buildings or structures shall not be replaced or re -erected within the corporate limits of the City of Paducah. The successful bidder or bidders shall agree at the time of the acceptance of his or their bids that the buildings so purchased, together with all appurtenances and other improvements attached to or used as a part of any building, shall be completely removed from said property by the date fixed herein, and the contract of sale shall contain such further provisions as will insure the City of Paducah of the complete possession of said property not later than the date provided. SECTION 2. The City iianager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the City Iiall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received by the City Manager after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Idanager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the highest and best bidder. 1249 The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and they shall not become legally obligated to sell a building or any buildings until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing such sale or sales. SECTI0P1 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
