HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1204, No Ordinance Number1204 l AMENDED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: '%N ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NU70ER, RNAKS AND M0NTf-1LY SALARIES OP THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND REPEALING ALL .ORDIIJANCES IN CONFLICT HEREKITIT", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COIZIISSIONE.RS ON AUGUST 5, 1952 AND AiIENDED ON MARCH 3, 1953 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0111IISSI01VERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted on August 5, 1952, and amended on March 3, 1953, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION l.The number and rank of members of the Police Department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance adopted hereafter, shall be as follows: Position Number of Positions Honthly Salary Chief of Police 1 x400 Assistant Chief of Pdliee 1 325 Chief Detective Z 310 Police Captain y� 5 300 Detective Lieutenant 1 285 Pollee Lieutneant 5 285 Sergeant 4 272 Sergeant Detective 2 272 Sergeant Jailer 1 272 Policemen 40 265 Provided, however, that any policeman hereafter appointed, during his first year of service shall receive a salary of $245 per month and upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by the City Manager on recommendation of the Police Chief, his monthly salary shall be increased to X255 for the 2nd year of service, and upon completion of a 2nd year of satisfactory service as determined by the City Manager on recommendation of the Pbl,tce Chief, his monthly salary shall be increased to the sum of $265. (Provided further that in the case of a policeman presently appointed and employed in the Police D6partment the salary of such policemen during their first year of service shall be $255 per month, and upon completion of this first year of satisfactory service as determined by the City Manager on 1205 recommendation of the Police Chief, said salary shall be increased to .265 per month. But those policemen presently appointed and employed in the police department for a period of more than one (1) year from the date of their appointment shall receive a salary of ?265 per month." 1 SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
