HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1192, No Resolution Number1192 / A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACTING CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 1953 MODEL POLICE MOTORCYCLE AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID PURCHASE i SHALL BE MADE i BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF I I PADUCAH, KENTUCKY. SECTION 1. That the Acting City Manager be, and he is hereby j authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) 1953 model police motorcycle, 74-0 H V silver color, standard police equipment group, 2 -way F.M. 152 to 170 Megacycles with application kit and Solo Windshield. Each bidder is to state the amount j he will accept in cash for the purchase price of the motorcycle he offers for sale and also the amount he will accept in payment of the purchase price by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1950 74 - 0 H V p9lice motorcycle. Each bidder shall state in his bid the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the city hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the San -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the Acting City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to purchase said motorcycle until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3.
