AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE POSITIONS OF WAT07NAN IN THE
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND AMENDING SECTION 8-B OF THE APPOINTIVE
EMPLOYES' CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE, WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD
OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947 AND AMENDED ON JANUARY 30, 1953
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COM!1ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY.
SECTION I. That the positions of Watchman in the Public Works
Department are hereby abolished, and Section 8-B of the Appointive
Employees' Civil Service Ordinance, which was adopted on December
2, 1947 and amended on January 30, 1953, be, and the same is hereby
amended and reordained so that said Section as amended and reordained
shall read as follows:
"SECTION 8-B. There is hereby authorized and created the
following positions in the Public Works Department, heretofore known
as the Street Department, and the salary of each position, provided
the amount of such salary is not changed under, any apportionment
ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows:

which has heretofore been created by a
separate ordinance and which is not in-
cluded in this ordinance.

Present employees occupying the positions of laborer shall
be paid at $1.25 per hour, persons employed hereafter shall
be paid at the rate of $'1.17,7 per hour for the first 6 months
and ${1.25 per hour thereafter.

SECTION 2. A71 ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in 3'411 force and effect
on and after June 16, 1953.
