HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1133, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A BULLDOZER -SHOVEL FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: Section 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of a bulldozer -shovel for use by the Department of Public Works, specifications of which shall be as follows: One new diesel -fuel bulldozer -shovel with minimum of 1 cu. yd.' capacity bucket and minimum of 40.5 drawbar horsepower; bucket to have positive hydraulic bucket control; preferred features; muffler, hourmeter, precleaner and lights. Bidders must make trade-in offer on used, City -owned tractor -lift on display at 9th & Madison garage, Paducah - Bidders must also quote on price of one used dozer -shovel meeting above specifications and terms of a model not older than 1951 and which carries reasonable guarantee against defects and faulty operation state- ment of known hours of operation requested. Section 2.The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall not become legally obligated to purchase said equipment un9l the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
