HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1131, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A STEAM GENERATOR AND/OR BOILER FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AT 6TH AND CAMPBELL STREETS BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CON�fJSSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY. SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of a steam gene- rator and/or boiler for use by the Department of Public Works at 6th & Campbell streets, specifications of which shall be as follows: Boiler rating to be not less than 40 horse power. Design pressure to be not less than 150 psi. Electric control drive RRO-Volt 3 Phase, 60 Cycle. Combination natural gas and diesel oil burner with all controls installed and wired in place. To work as a unit when connected to gas, oil, feed water and steam lines. City to provtde concrete base and anchor bolts. Successful bidder to deliver, set and install unit ready for use as directed by City of Paducah. No auxiliary piping or flexable hose to be included in bid price. Successful bidder to provide starting service to see that it is Properly adjusted and placed in operation and meets all of the manufacturers guarantees and to instruct operating personnel in the care, operation and maintenance of this equipment. A complete engineering analysis and descriptive literature with manufacturers specifications and guarantees to be submitted with each bid. Alternate bids shall also be submitted for the sale f.o.b. Paducah, Kentucky of said steam generator and/or boiler without' tnstallation. Each bid to be accompanied by a certified check in the amoung of 5X of the bid price. Delivery and installation to be completed in 10 days and certified check to be retained by the City of Paducah until delivery and installation has been completed. SECTION R. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid sha11 be opened within (10) ten days from the date on which this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board Of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall not become legally obligated to purchase said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. 1132 SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in fall force and effect from and after its adoption.
