HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1116, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE CITY'S REQUIREI,11ENT OF ASPHALT FOR THE YEAR 1953 (APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 30 CARLOADS) TO BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION WORK. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COP1-1ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of the City's requirement of 1 -'IC -0, MC -1, Pd0-3 and RC -3 Liquid Asphalt for the year 1953 (approximately 20 to 30 carloads). The bid price to be f.o.b. city track at 6th and Campbell Streets, Paducah, Kentucky. Asphalt to be delivered as ordered in 6,500 and 8,000 gallon insulated tank cars equipped with steam coils to heat and said material must meet Kentucky State Highway specifications. SECTION 2. The City I-Ianager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City i•;anager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the bid to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders. The right shall be reserved to reject any and all bids and all bids shall provide a guarantee against advance in the market price and also a reduction in price in the event of a decrease in the market price and the successful bidder shall post ?2,500 Performance Bond ;uaranteeinJ specifications and delivery. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
