HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1095, No Ordinance Number1095 i AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF THE DICK X-RAY COi•IPANY IN THE T X.IOUNT OF ;j29, 200.00 FOR SALE AND INSTALLATION IN RIVERSIDE HOSPITAL OF X-RAY EQUIPI.IENT, PROVIDING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS THEREOF AND AUTHORIZING I?AYOR ROBERT C. CHERRY TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH TIHCREAS, pursuant to a Resolution calling for bids for certain x-ray equipment the City Nanager advertised therefor and received bids from The Dick X -Ray Company, General Electric X -Ray Corporation and Picker X -Ray Corporation which have been received and filed; and 5WEREAS, the Riverside Hospital Commission recommends acceptance of the bid of the Dick X -Ray Company because that bid in the amount of Y031,200.00 is the lowest and best bid of the bids which meet the re- quired specifications; and T/HEREAS, mid Dick X -Ray Company has also indicated that it will, in addition, decrease its bid by an additional :,'2000.00 making the cost to the City of Paducah ;,j29,200.00 and since said Company is considered the lowest and best bidder of the original three bidders and it is believed to the best interest to accept their bid and also their offer to further reduce the amount thereof by an additional ;52000.00; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0I111ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY. SECTION 1. That the bid of the Dick X -Ray Company of St. Louis, Missouri to the amount of .,31,200.00 for furnishing and installing certain x-ray equipment in Riverside Hospital in Paducah be accepted, provided said company deducts an additional `,9000 from their bid as promised by them, so that the cost of said equipment installed shall be $29,200.00; that said equipment shall be the equipmentspectfied in adtd Company's bid of February 1,3, 1953 and shall meet the x-ray equip- ment specifications which was the basis of said 'bid. SECTI011 2. That Mayor Robert C. Cherry is hereby authorized and directed for the City of Paducah, to contract with said company for said equipment; that the contract shall incorporate all the terms and conditions of said bid and the specifications on which bids for said equipment was based; and such other terms and conditions as the Corporation Counsel may believe to be the best interest of the City; that the contract price shall be 1129,200.00 and the City of Paducah shall not be obligated until said contract has been duly executed. SECTION 3. The cost of said equipment shall be assessed to the Riverside Hospital Building Fund and payable therefrom upon completion 1096 of said installation. S3CTI0W 4.
