SECTION 1. That the bid of Peter Pirsch & Sons Company in the II amount of 06000.00 for sale to the City of Paducah of a 75 foot Pirsch Aluminum aerial ladder constructed and installed to fit the Pirsch 1940 Intermediate aerial ladder truck now owned by the City of Paducah, includ- ing the cost of installation thereof, and which bid includes also servic- ing the hydraulic lifting cylinders, the cost of which is to be offest by salvage valve of damaged ladder which will become the property of Peter A rsbh c: Sons Company, be, and the same is hereby, accepted in accord- ance with the Resolution authorizing the request for bids. This price for the installed ladder shall be f.o.b. Paducah, XOntucky, and shipping costs of returning the damaged ladder to Peter Pirsch 0 Sons Company shall be their expense. SECTION 2. That Robert C. Cherry, the Nayor, is hereby authorized to enter into a contract providing for the purchase of said ladder upon the terms and conditions set forth herein, and upon such other terms and conditions as the City Ranager and the Corporation Council may require for the protection of the interest of the City of Paducah, and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase the aforesaid ladder until a contract has been entered into. S^CTI P 3. The payment of the purchase price of said ladder shall be considered a Current Departmentd Expense and shall be chargable to the Fire Department account upon adoption of the Apportionment Ordinance for the year 1953. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one (1) week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. It being necessary that said ladder be purchased at the earliest possible date for the protection of life and property, an emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
