HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1072, No Resolution Number107' A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) SHOVEL ATTAMMENT FOR LINK -BELT SPEEDER PIODEL LS -51 BE I1T RESOL VED BY THE BOARD OF C0P,11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City A.anager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of the following: 1 SHOVEL ATTAMIENT (CHAIN CROWD) FOR LIMY. -BELT SPEEDER MODEL LS -51. BOOI+I 16, (center to center of pins) made of steel plates welded into a rigid box. Crown Pinions - 17 alloy steel cast teeth. Shipper Shaft Chain Sprocket - 19 cast teeth. Boom Head sheeaves - cast steel. Boom Hoist Sheaves - 711 pitch diameter made of cast it -on. DIPPER STICKS 131 Box Section all welded steel 4i1 wide x 7t1 deep with steel racks welded to bottom side. BUCKET 1/2 - Yard Rated Plate Dipper with casr steel head, 1/441 body Plate, Manganese Cast Steel Front with cutting edge cast integral, 4 Manganese Steel Removable Teeth 311 wide x 811 long. Door made from 3/81, plate with heavy hinges cut from 1f1 thick plates. This Shovel Attachment is to be complete with Speed -O -Matic Dipper Trip, positive chain crowd and all necessary lagging and cables. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall not become legally obligated to purchase said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
