HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1071, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE REGULATING SMOKING IN BED, AND FIXING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0144ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IO;NTUCKY: SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person wilfully, wantonly, or carelessly to use matches, lighters or smoking material, or dispose of lighted matches, cigarettes or cigars, or live embers of any smoking material, so as to result in the setting fire to any part of any building, or to any furnishings or fixtures therein, in which rooms are occupied by the public as sleeping accommodations. SECTION 2. This ordinance or the contents thereof shall be posted in a prominent place in each room occupied by the public as sleeping accommodations Responsibility for said posting shall be that of the person, firm or corporation operating or conducting such public accommodations. SECTION 3. Any person violating Section 1 of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not less than fifty ($50.00) Dollars, nor more than one hundred (•,j100.00) dollars, or by imprisonment of not less than ten (10) days, nor more than thirty (30) days, or both so fined and imprisoned, and any person, firm or corporation violating Section 2 hereof shall upon conviction be fined not less than ten (N10.00) Dollars nor more than fifty, (;)50.00) dollars. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
