HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1037, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAI✓AGER TO REQUEST BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 75 foot ALUIIINUH AERIAL LADDER FOR USE IN THE FIRE DEPART01EUT BE IT RESOLVED BY IEE BOARD OF C01.14ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Planager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) 75 foot, 4 section aluminum aerial ladder, so constructed and installed to fit the Peter-Pirsch aerial truck purchased in 1940 b y the City of Paducah, and so constructed as to permit hydraulic operation with same or similar lift system as was inuse prior to January 7, 1953, and having also hand operated control for all operations of said ladder. Bidders shall also include in their bids the amount the bidder shall allow as a trade-in or salvage of the aluminum ladder used on said aerial truck until this ladder was destroyed by fire on January 7, 1953. Bids shall include the cost of installation and the price for said ladder shall be f.o.b. Paducah, Kentucky. SECTION 2__ The City 1lanager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Hanager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest or best responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall not become legally obligated to purchase said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3.
