HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 1022, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF LONNIE CONNOR IN THE AMOUNT OF i3, 450.00 FOR INSTALLATION OF DOORS AT FIRE STATION NO. 1; PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAID ACCEPTANCE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY 11ANAGER TO CONTRACT WITH LONNIE CONNOR FOR SAID PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF DOORS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CONL?ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY. SECTION 1. That the bid of Lonnie Connor in the amount of $,450.00 for the installation of three (3) automatic over -head doors and one entrance door on the front side of Fire Station Nod, be and the same is hereby accepted in accordance with the terms of said bid, and the conditions stated in the Resolution authorizing the advertising for bids adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 9, 1952. Said over -head doors shall be the McKee door, type 34101 heavy duty of the design and pattern now in use at Fire Station No. 3, said door to be installed complete with motors as indicated in said bid and said price shall include the price for all labor, materials and other services. SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Lonnie Connor on the terms and conditions herein set forth and on such other terms as said City Manager and Corporation Counsel shall deem to the best interest of the City of Paducah, and the city shall not become obligated to purchase and install said doors until a contract has been entered into. Said contract shall be paid for out of money appropriated in the annual apportionment ordinance for this purpose. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and shall remain on file one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. As the installation is in the best interest of the City of Paducah and is necessary in order to preserve and protect the public health, safety and welfare of its citizens, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
